      尽管有很多人仍将Linkin Park乐队与Limp Bizkit、Korn这些已在乐坛走红的乐队相比，但这张《Hybrid Theory》以使人们看到了这几个年轻人有着自己与众不同的风格。这些歌曲的旋律给人留下了深刻的印象，而他们歌词清晰明确的表达则给乐队带来了强烈的冲击感。如果你听到他们以前的歌曲小样（当时他们叫做Hybrid Theory，与这张专辑同名），就会感到有明显的不同。Linkin Park所演唱的，仍是“说唱摇滚”（Rap and Rock）作品，但他们并没有走Limp Bizkit式的老路，更不希望成为那些不被人们注意的无名乐队之一，他们的作品具有鲜明的原创性和创造力，是说唱乐与摇滚乐极其完美的集合。Chester Bennington和Mike Shinoda的演唱近乎重金属般的尖叫，他们的音乐也总是不断变化。

　　制作人Don Gilmore曾担任Pearl Jam、Lit、Eve6等乐队专辑的制作，使这张《Hybrid Theory》专辑在制作上的摇滚乐成分更多一些。“Points of Authority”听起来更像是Trent Reznor的作品，带有厚重的工业噪音元素。这支乐队虽然没有贝司手，但DJ Joseph Hahn的加入弥补了这一不足，并且使Linkin Park能够在电子乐领域施展其音乐才能。除了音乐上的特色，Linkin Park的歌词也与其它乐队不同，虽然所表达的都是现代社会年轻人所面临的问题，但他们没有用任何污秽、辱骂的语言，这在同类型的乐队中是极其少见的。
